周四，英国股市走高，因英格兰银行（BoE）如市场普遍预期，将借贷成本维持在5.0%不变。

英格兰银行货币政策委员会在8月会议上四年来首次降息，而此次以8比1的投票结果决定维持利率不变。

英国国内生产总值（GDP）增长最近停滞，上周的数据表明，7月经济连续第二个月停滞不前。分析师此前预计增长0.2%。

但周三的数据表明，8月通胀率保持在2.2%，高于英格兰银行的长期2%目标，同时核心通胀和服务业通胀均有所加速。

英格兰银行的利率决定是在美国联邦储备委员会宣布降息50个基点后的第二天做出的。周三，美国股市波动较大，尽管在最初反弹后收盘走低，但周四早盘多头再次占上风，所有主要指数均大幅上涨。

GBPUSD H1

在金融衍生品市场，利率决定使英镑兑美元上涨0.56%，达到1.3287。与此同时，英镑兑欧元上涨0.26%，至1.914。

伦敦股市收盘时，蓝筹股富时100指数上涨0.9%，至8,308点，而更广泛的富时250指数则上涨1.6%，至21,162点。

由于美元走软，铜价创下两个月新高，带动矿业股大涨，英美资源集团上涨3.7%，安托法加斯塔上涨4.6%。 

零售商股价也走高，JD Sports上涨4.6%，Primark母公司AB Foods上涨0.7%，受到行业积极消息的提振。服装零售商Next上涨4.4%，因为其再次上调年度盈利指引，报告显示下半年前六周的全价销售额增长了6.9%，远超预期。

UK100 H1

在线超市和物流集团Ocado上涨2.1%，因其上调了与马莎百货合资的Ocado Retail的收入指引，第三季度表现强劲，零售收入增长15%。马莎百货也因此上涨1.8%。

此外，Bytes Technology上涨7.8%，表示自7月年度会议更新市场后，交易保持强劲。

但Close Brothers股价下跌5.6%，此前其披露已同意将其财富管理部门以最高2亿英镑的价格出售给橡树资本管理公司管理的基金，同时发布了符合预期的全年业绩。
